Ingredients
Sauce
30 ml (1/4 cup) Hoisin sauce
30 ml (1/4 cup) soy sauce
30 ml (2 tbsp.) brown sugar
10 ml (2 tsp.) grated ginger
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2.5 ml (1/2 tsp.) crushed pepper
30 ml (2 tbsp.) olive oil
10 ml (2 tsp.) sesame oil
Tofu and stir-fry
350 ml (1 1/2 cup) basmati rice
225 g (1/2 packaging) Tofu, cut into cubes (the tofu can be substituted with another protein: beef strips, chicken cubes, etc.)
1 bag (675 g)
Arctic Gardens Corn and Vegetables Stir-Fry
mix
15 ml (1 tbsp.) olive oil
15 ml (1 tbsp.) cornstarch
2 green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds, to taste
Preparation
1. Cook rice according to package instructions.
2. Mix all the sauce ingredients and add the tofu cubes. Marinate for 20 minutes.
3. Thaw the Arctic Gardens vegetables in the microwave for 5-6 minutes, drain and set aside.
4. Drain the tofu cubes, taking care to retain the sauce. Reserve the sauce.
5. In a pan, heat the olive oil. When hot, add the tofu cubes, heat through and grill on all sides over medium-high heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
6. Add the defrosted vegetables to the pan and continue cooking for 2 minutes.
7. Add the sauce and cornstarch diluted in a little water to the mixture. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
8. Serve the vegetable and tofu mixture in sauce over basmati rice, add the green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Enjoy!
