Ingredients
250g

vegetable mix
1 tbsp (15 mL) sesame oil
1 tsp (5 mL) chopped ginger
1/2 tbsp (7.5 mL) minced garlic
225g (1/2 lbs) ground tofu or pork
1 cup (100g) chopped fresh cabbage
1/4 cup (62.5 mL) green onions, chopped
3 tbsp (45 mL) tamari or soy sauce
3 tbsp (45 mL) hoisin sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
454g (1 lb) round dumpling pasta
Sauce
3 tbsp (45mL) green onions, finely chopped
3 tbsp (45mL) cilantro, chopped
1 tbsp (15mL) garlic, minced
1/2 tbsp (7.5 mL) ginger, chopped
2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped roasted peanuts
1 tbsp (15 mL) toasted white sesame seeds
2 tbsp (30 mL) raw or powdered sugar
1/3 cup (82.5 mL) soy sauce
4 tbsp (60 mL) rice vinegar
1/3 cup (82.5 mL) chili oil, optional
1 tsp (5 mL) toasted sesame oil
Preparation
1. Thaw the Perfectly Imperfect vegetable mix in the microwave for 2 min, then pulse in a food processor to reduce the vegetables to small pieces (chop with a knife if you don't have a food processor).
2. In a frying pan, heat the sesame oil with the ginger and garlic. Add the ground tofu or pork and cook for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the shredded vegetables, cabbage, green onion, tamari sauce and hoisin sauce. Fry for 5-6 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
4. Let mixture cool, then shape into dumplings. Fill each dumpling with 1-2 tsp of mixture, brush edges with a little water and fold over. Press edges well together.
5. The dumplings can be baked in two different ways:
- For a softer result, place the dumplings in a frying pan with a little water. Cover and cook for 5 min, turning over halfway through. You can eat them as is, or brown them in a frying pan with a little oil.
- For extra-crisp dumplings, spray with oil and bake for 10 minutes in the air fryer at 390°F.
6. To prepare the sauce, simply mix all ingredients, adjust seasoning to taste.
* It is possible to prepare the dumplings in advance and freeze them.
